Your gas fireplace

Proper airflow in your fireplace helps keep your indoor air cleaner. Keep any pipes leading out of the fireplace clear and unclogged. Make sure your gas fireplace is completely turned off when not in use.

Keep the chimney swept and the flue open. Check the chimney liner and firebox for cracks that may allow exhaust gas to return to the living space. The chimney should be examined annually and cleaned regularly by a professional.

Keep your firebox clean and have your chimney inspected each year.
